International Dance Supplies Expand in Newton Abbot

International dance Supplies or IDS as it is known was founded by Ann Walker in 1978, in Autumn 2018, t was acquired by Audax Private Equity, and joined the Revolution Group of companies, including Dance Direct and Revolution Dancewear. The business which is based at Harlequin House Forde Road, Brunel Industrial Estate, Newton Abbot, has been rapidly expanding in the Newton Abbot area over the past few years. The most recent expansion has been the former CT Lighting building at Silverhill’s Road, Decoy Industrial Estate in Newton Abbot.

The building which comprises 3,488.20 sq.m. (37,547 sq.ft.) of warehouse space on a site of some 1.17 acres was one of the few large storage building to come to the market in recent years. The building had a large mezzanine floor which the new owners were able to make good use of. 1 Silverhill’s had more recently been recladd with the removal of the asbestos sheet roofing materials and its’s replacement with sheet steel panels.

The property was marketed at a an asking price of £1.5m and may not be large enough for the new owners have been contemplating the expansion of the facility into the rear service yard in order to provide some additional internal space. CT Lighting have moved their entire operation to Bovey Tracey which they had previously acquired and continue to trade form the new location.
